License renewal deadline: December 14, 2024
Any license renewals submitted to the DSPS after the December 14 renewal deadline will be considered late, and the licensee will be charged a $25 late fee on top of the $60 renewal fee. Licensees who do not have an active license cannot practice real estate after December 14 until the license is renewed.

To renew your license visit license.wi.gov
- All licensees must use the new DSPS LicensE portal for renewal. All licensees must log in with new credentials provided by the DSPS.
- Enter your email with “.dsps” added at the end, then click “Forgot/Change Password?”
- You will receive a separate email to reset your password (Due to high volume, it may take up to three business days to receive your password reset email.)
- If you do not receive an email within three days or don’t know which email address the DSPS has on file, you need to contact the DSPS directly.
What are the 2023-24 Wisconsin real estate CE requirements and course topics?
To maintain real estate licenses in the state of Wisconsin, real estate licensees must complete 18 hours of continuing education (CE) every two years. Instead of six three-hour CE courses as with past biennia, the 2023-24 CE curriculum now comprises individual
one-hour courses to meet the 18-hour credit requirement, comprised of 12 mandatory courses and six elective courses listed below.

No, the WRA does not have student records for coursework completed elsewhere. You must contact the other education provider to obtain your course certificates.

How do I log in to my WRA account?
Log in by using your myWRA credentials. To create an account or reset your password, visit www.wra.org/CreateAccount.
Where can I find my certificates of completion?
To obtain certificates, log in to MyHistory. The WRA maintains certificates for WRA courses only. If you took CE through another education provider, contact that provider for your certificates.
Do I need to complete CE if I am newly licensed?
Most new licensees need to complete CE. Newly licensed salespersons who received their original real estate license after October 1 of the even year of the biennium are not required to complete CE for that biennium. However, all new broker licensees
must complete CE. To verify, please check the expiration date on your DSPS issued license.
What is the deadline for renewing a license?
The deadline for the 2023-24 biennium is December 14, 2024. Licensees must renew their license by December 14 of the even-numbered year.
Is my license renewed once I complete the CE courses?
No, taking your CE is not enough to renew your license. To maintain your license, you must complete the required CE and renew your license with the Wisconsin DSPS every two years by December

Can I renew my WRA membership to renew my license?
No. Renewing your license is separate from renewing your REALTOR® membership. You renew your license with the Wisconsin DSPS. You renew your membership with your local REALTOR® association.

Does the WRA provide the DSPS with certificates of completion?
No BUT if the licensee has completed ALL required CE credits with the WRA, the WRA will send the DSPS a notification indicating so and the licensee will not need to individually enter their courses.

My license has lapsed. How do I reactivate?
If your license is inactive and has been inactive for less than five years and you wish to renew your license, you must:
- Complete the previous biennium of CE.
- Pay the renewal fee.
- Pay the late fee.
Licensees who do not have an active license cannot practice real estate until the license is renewed.
What do I need to do if I have a business entity license?
In addition to completing your CE requirements for your individual license and renewing your individual license, you also need to renew the entity license.
How do I confirm that I renewed my license?
Renewal status may be checked online by using the licensee lookup feature on the DSPS website. As long as the license appears on the DSPS website as active, the
licensee may practice. If the license shows as expired, the licensee may not practice real estate.
